Our Policies

You must be at least 21 years of age to order or receive alcoholic beverages from Saxum Vineyards. Receipt of shipments containing alcoholic beverages require the signature of a sober adult (a person 21 years of age or older who is not intoxicated). Wines purchased from Saxum Vineyards are not for resale, and are for personal consumption only.

Credit Card Charges

Payments are processed at the time of online purchase. The wines are sold as “futures” (payment is received at the time of ordering and shipped at a later date, specified in the order confirmation, when temperatures are cool enough to ship wine).

Offerings

Members of our offering list are invited to purchase wine during releases. We typically release wines twice a year, in the spring and fall. Ground shipping is complimentary (up to one address per account). Members of our offering list are not obligated to purchase wine during our releases. Over time, if a member consistently purchases their full offering and wishes for additional bottles, we are more likely to increase a future offer when inventory allows. Adversely, if a member purchases less than their offered amount, we may decrease a future offering. Due to our limited production, we are not able to offer all of our wines to all of our offering list members. With each release, we attempt to offer as many members as possible the wines they request. If you ever have questions we are more than happy to talk.

Wish Requests and Granting

For members interested in purchasing more than the offering provided we recommend placing a “wish request.” The option to add wish requests will appear once the full offering amount is selected from the drop down menu. If inventory allows at the end of the release, we will add the requested bottles to your order. The credit card attached to the original order will be charged the balance due for the wines added and taxes if they apply. When a wish request is fulfilled we will email a revised order confirmation. We grant wishes based on a customer’s aggregate purchase history, and then first come, first served within their offering level. Customers who place orders on the first day of their offering are more likely to be granted wish requests if inventory is left over at the end of the release.

States Authorized for Direct Shipment

Currently, we ship directly to the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI (Honolulu, Hawaii, Kauai counties), IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY.

If Saxum Vineyards is unable to ship directly to your state, please find a relative, friend or wine storage facility within a state we are allowed to ship to and use their address as your delivery address.

Shipping

A person over the age of 21 years old is required to sign for the delivery because the package contains alcohol.

Our Ground complimentary shipping service is limited to one address per account, per release. If a customer requests to have part of an allocation shipped to a second address we will apply a shipping charge to the additional shipment(s).

UPS GROUND
UPS Ground is our complimentary shipping service to the following states: CA, CO, ID, MT, NM, NV, OR, WA, WY

TEMPERATURE CONTROL – UPS
Temperature Control via UPS is our complimentary shipping service to the following states: CT, DC, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT, WI, WV

Orders shipping to these areas travel in a temperature controlled truck from Paso Robles to a fulfillment service warehouse in Ohio. After arriving on a Monday most packages will be delivered in 1-2 days. Please note that estimated delivery dates shown in the UPS tracking system are often inaccurate until packages are received by the warehouse in Ohio.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL  – FedEx
Temperature Control South via FedEx is our complimentary shipping service to the following states: AL, AZ, FL, LA, TX

Orders shipping to these areas travel in a temperature controlled truck from Paso Robles to a FedEx facility in Arizona, Texas, and Florida the following week. After arriving at the local facility most packages will be delivered in 1 day, however some may take 2-3 days. Please note that estimated delivery dates shown in the FedEx tracking system are often inaccurate until packages are received by the local FedEx facility.

ALTERNATE SHIP METHODS
Customers may request an alternate carrier or shipping service level. In most cases, additional shipping charges will apply. Shipping rates fluctuate and vary per region. For more specific information send an email to info@saxumvineyards.com.

SHIPMENT CHANGE REQUESTS
Before orders are packed Saxum notifies customers via email to confirm their delivery address and delivery time frame will be convenient. We will not be able to make any delivery changes after an order is packed.

If a customer needs to manage their delivery after the order is packed, or has already shipped, we recommend waiting for the tracking notification and managing the delivery directly through UPS My Choice or FedEx Delivery Manager. Please note, carriers will not reroute packages to alternate homes or offices. They will only reroute packages to nearby pick up locations / access points.

RETURNS
It is the responsibility of the customer to successfully sign for a delivery. Saxum provides ample notice and time for customers to submit changes before an order is packed.

If a package is returned the customer can request to have the package re-shipped (shipping charges will be applied). If re-shipment is not requested the order will be canceled and a refund will be issued.

PICK UPS
We are not able to accommodate pick-ups. Complimentary Ground shipping (up to one delivery address per account) is our standard form of delivery.

Multiple Orders and Delivery Address Requests

Since Ground shipping is complimentary up to one delivery address per customer account we recommend placing your initial order online and then sending an email to info@saxumvineyards.com if you would like to add additional bottles at a later time, or, if you would like your order shipped to more than one delivery address.

Wine is a Delicate Commodity

Wine is a perishable commodity. Wine does not like extremes of temperature: hot humid summer and cold winter weather may adversely affect the condition of your wine during shipment. Saxum Vineyards chooses shipping dates very carefully. We review the forecast shortly before orders are scheduled to ship. If the forecast is above 85 degrees, or below 15 degrees, we may delay shipments.

Decanting and Storage

We recommend letting our wines rest for a few years before opening. However, if you can’t wait, open the bottle the night before you plan to enjoy it. Pour out half a glass of wine, give it a taste to make sure it is not corked, place the cork back in and store it upright in a cool place. As many of you are aware, wine is delicate so we recommend storing in an area that never exceeds 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

Returns and Cancellations

We will replace any bottle of wine that is damaged, flawed or found unsatisfactory. By law, we cannot accept returns of alcoholic beverages unless the product is corked, or flawed. Please send an email to info@saxumvineyards.com to arrange for the replacement of a corked or flawed product.

A customer may request a cancellation and full refund of their order anytime before the wine is shipped by emailing info@saxumvineyards.com.

It is the customer’s responsibility to be present in order to accept and sign for the delivery of their wine. If we need to re-ship an order due to failed delivery attempts we may charge the customer $15 for the return fee in addition to the cost of re-shipping the order.

Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy is important to us. We hope the following statement will help you understand how we collect, use and safeguard the personal information you provide to us on our site.

I. What kind of information do we collect from you when you visit our site?

When you visit Saxum Vineyards.com, our stats package from Google collects some basic information about your browser. Examples are things like what type of browser and operating system are you using; how long did you stay on our site; what pages did you look at. This helps us understand how visitors browse our site, so that we can make their shopping experience better.

We also collect personal information about you when you check out of our store such as your name, address, postal code, phone number, etc. We need this information to process payment and ship merchandise to you.

We may utilize third party companies in an effort to deliver you tailored content and information such as list status, release information, and shipping notifications.

II. Sharing of personal information – we don’t do it.

Under no circumstances will we share any personal information that we collect with any third parties or web sites. All the information you give us is completely private and used solely for release notification, order processing, and shipping. If you give us permission to send you marketing emails then we use your email for that purpose, but never does that email get sold or distributed to any other web site or list.

III. Consumer inquiries and privacy.

If you have any questions about your privacy, or want to make changes to your profile, or get off our marketing list, simply send us an email.

IV. Protecting your information.

All the payment information we collect is done so under SSL – a standard internet security measure. Any data that we store about you is kept behind a secure firewall in our database and is not accessible to the public in any way.

Agreement to Receive Text Messages

By providing your mobile number, you agree that Saxum Vineyards may send you periodic SMS or MMS messages containing release notifications. You will receive up to 8 messages per year.
